This is going to be a frequent event, Jacqui, during the last few years many counties have suffered as much as this, people living in Tewksbury - where it was flooded two years ago - are still living in caravans, too many areas requiring help all at once. And they say there is no global warming. We have had many warm autumns at 70 degrees, very mild winters, and constant rain. As a child living in the north of England, the snow came at the end of October and stayed until April - the news at that time was always about sheep being rescued from drifts!
ReplyDeletesame here - flooding where I haven't known it for 30 years - and there are still the nay sayers!
ReplyDeleteGlobal warming or pre-ice age? Could be either, or neither. As a child I remember snow in April all the time and very frigid temperatures during winter. Now they are very mild. The forecast here is for a very wet winter, when we usually get little rain. It will definitely be interesting to watch. If it is a precursor to an ice age, then we will be long gone before it reaches fruition.
